What is the course?
A six-week course in music production and songwriting with Mauricio Venegas-Astorga (renowned multi-instrumentalist & composer of production music for worldwide TV & film), producer/ composer Juan Contento (credits include West One Music and Universal Music) and film & TV composer Jorge Puig (6 x Jerry Goldsmith Award nominee and credits including TV series for Fábula).
You will work with other young musicians on the course to learn practical skills for creating, editing and songwriting using Logic Pro.

This is a free course, you just need to bring your talent, inspiration and commitment…
It is funded by Hammersmith & Fulham Council (King Charles III Coronation Youth Fund in H&F) and Arts Council England.
Who is delivering the course?
The course will be delivered by the Musiko Musika team, led by producer/ composer Juan Contento (credits include West One Music and Universal Music) and film & TV composer Jorge Puig (6 x Jerry Goldsmith Award nominee and credits including TV series for Fábula), under the direction of Mauricio Venegas-Astorga (renowned multi-instrumentalist & composer of production music for worldwide TV & film).

What music will we produce together?
The main course objective will be to write and produce songs, working to a professional-style brief to create repertoire that will be performed in community workshops and at the Voces Festival 2026 at the Lyric Hammersmith. The ECCO project embraces musical styles and instruments from around the world. We support young musicians to explore, be creative and innovative and this will be reflected in the music produced.
How will my achievements be recognised?
The course will award a Digital Certificate to everyone who completes the 6-week course.
Who can apply?
The course is open to young musicians aged 12–18-years who live in Hammersmith & Fulham.
You do not need to have prior skills in music technology, but we expect you to be passionate about music and motivated in learning how to create and write music.
When and where does this take place?
The courses will run on Saturdays 1.15 to 3.00pm at the Lyric Hammersmith W6 0QL
Spaces are limited, you can apply for a place on either course 1 or course 2.
Course 1 dates: 7/2, 14/2, 28/2, 7/3, 14/3, 28/3
Course 2 dates: 18/4, 25/4, 2/5, 9/5, 16/5, 23/5
Final performance (Voces Festival): 4/7/26

Having successfully completed the course participants will be invited to join additional activities to plan and produce the final concert.
