| Music Links - an innovative series of world music workshops and teaching resources
"There's never been a time when groups like Musiko Musika have been more valuable. Music is learning, is discipline, is creativity, is invention and respect for others."
Griff Rhys-Jones (Introduction to Music Links resources)
"It's been a few weeks now that I have been using the resource pack with the CD and the children love it!! So do I."
Blue Planet Montessori Nursery on the Foundation Resources.
Music Links was developed over a three year period with funding from Arts Council, England and additional funding from Hackney Music Services, Enfield Arts Support Services and the Foundation for Sport and the Arts. Workshops and teaching materials were all extensively researched, piloted and refined over this period and the result is a highly imaginative approach to cross-curricular music teaching. World Music is linked to different areas of the school curriculum (currently from Foundation up to KS2).
Beyond the impact on musical skills Music Links also has outcomes in other areas:
- Improved attitudes to learning
- A lasting impact on levels of achievement
- Enhanced learning skills – self-discipline, concentration, motivation, co-operation, imaginative and creative thinking
- Development of new teaching tools for class teachers
- Raised levels of respect and appreciation for other cultures
We are able to offer a range of packages based on the delivery of the Music Links programme.
